Tonight I went to Des Moines with my good pal Jameson to ride bikes and see a show downtown. We got his peugoet working again at my mom's house and met up with Hillary and David who had driven down from Minneapolis for the night. David just finished building up his fixed gear; a 1980's Columbus track frame with a bunch of njs parts on it. The frame and fork don't have drillings for brakes and the fork must have less than 3o mm of rake. It is a very sexy machine. The ride from West Des Moines to downtown was pretty sweet but we were lacking adequate lighting for Saturday night Des Moines traffic. Jameson had a really close call with a minivan that pulled out in front of us. Kudos to him for swerving to miss the van while simultaneously giving the driver the middle finger. We arrived at the Vaudeville around ten and grabbed some beverages while the first band set up. The band was called Oh Possum and they rocked much harder than any of us expected. The Autumn Project was the headliner tonight. I've seen them quite a few times and have to say this wasn't one of their best shows. It was still a pretty rock'n good time. The show got over around 2 which meant we got to hang with bar traffic on the way home.
