Back At It - Blogging in 2025?

Well, I think things are finally going backwards. I’m reaching the end of my social media rope. Tired of being inundated with depressing, boring, toxic information which I do not wish to see but have somehow willfully opted myself in to. Here in 2025, pushing 40 years old, I keep asking myself, why do I care about any of this bullshit? Why on earth should I support these mega social media companies when they are run by the absolute worst people in the world. It’s a pretty disgusting compromise we’ve made just to keep up with friends and current events. The bottom line, I think I would be happier without social media. Or at least pushing it massively down my list of priorities. But the obvious questions remain; how do I keep up with friends? How do I keep track of my own happenings? One alternative I see popping back up more and more is blogging. Could it be possible that blogging in the 00's was the sweet spot of internet social connection? Maybe? So i guess I am here once again, ready to give this a shot. Perhaps other friends have a similar idea and we can connect more in the blogger world and make some things a tiny bit better. Cheers!

Freaky Times

Coronavirus is fucking everything up in 2020. Events are cancelled,  businesses are closed and you can't even find TP for your bunghole. The spectrum of attitudes about this global pandemic is broad; from zero fucks given to get your ass in the secret bunker right now. Optimistic but cautious seems to be where I land on this spectrum and I have to say I am a fan of  this "social distancing". So far its freed up time to finally do some things I've been putting off. Over the weekend that was doing some work on the van and now that it's Monday afternoon it seems like the perfect time to dust off the old blog and write some shit down.

I've been neglecting this thing for over 5 years now. I'd say a lot of that has to do with the inconvenience of blogging compared to other forms of social media but scoping out my posts from 10 + years ago on blogger it is safe to say that this, some paragraphs and pictures, offers a lot more than a single image and a sentence I'd post on instagram.  SO another crack at the blog. I've tried it before only to fizzle out a few weeks later and i'm positive that's what will happen this time too but you know you can't fail unless you try so here's a good old college try.

So catch up up - 2015 to now . . . Chelsey and i moved to Colorado, got jobs, got married and are generally focused on maximizing fun. Some pictures to follow

Colorado Adventure Salvage Yard Edition

Old things survive pretty well in Colorado so salvage yards have some good stuff. There are a lot of import cars on the road here so there is a good economical reason for salvage yards to have old foreign stuff. Here are some pictures I took a few weeks ago from a pick and pull as well as a motorcycle salvage operation that sells both parts and complete used motorcycles.

Colorado Adventure Pt.1

So a week ago Chelsey and I hit the road for Colorado. We sold and gave away quite a few of our belongings including all of our furniture and a good chunk of my motorcycle parts. We saved some money and quit our jobs. We loaded our cars to the roof and put everything else in storage. Naturally both of us had car trouble in the week leading up to our departure. My cars problems are never a surprise, in this case my pal Tom was helping me replace the wheel bearings which turned into replacing the ball joints, tie rods, rotors, a brake caliper and a cv shaft. We managed to get it back together before last Sunday and remarkably it ran like a champ all they way to Denver. Chelsey's car decided it's MAF was finally too dirty and started running like shit. $35 at Carney's and it's all fixed up.Currently Chelsey and I are looking for work in Denver and staying with our most excellent hosts Megan and Jackson and their dogs Pepper and Gunnar. They have made the transition to Colorado life pretty easy and have let us tag along on their outings. Last weekend we went up into the mountains for some 4 wheeling. Colorado is pretty wild and I can't wait to get through winter and get on a motorcycle. Hopefully some of the rat house dudes find their way out here. (Talking to you Brian, Aaron, Nash, Sam, Max, Kyle, Andrew!)

So proud of this thing.

I just wrapped up 13 years at this place. Adios Amigo!

Updates.

Well it was a heck of a summer. I finished college! Unbelievable! A lot has happened since my last post; birthdays, motorcycle riding, marathons, and many good times. Here is a photographic representation of the last several months:
